In 2012, Terry Pratchett and Stephen Baxter wrote The Long Earth, a series of science fiction novels about the discovery of stepping — the ability to travel between countless Earth-analogue 'parallel worlds'.

The 'soft places' are shortcuts between those worlds — while stepping happens one world at a time, traveling the soft places moves a stepper across multiple worlds in a single step.

I consider this page to be the soft places of the Internet. From here, you can travel... almost anywhere. It all depends on where you want to go.
